Seasonal Angst

SEASONAL ANGST

by Paul Bishop — November 29, 1996

When I stare into the sky
And feel the snow fall on my face
In the dark of drifting night
Suddnely life steps back a pace
Fall upon me, snow of white
Cover me in blanket bright
When it melts in springtime day
Will it wash my sins away? (more…)

I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE KING!

by Paul Bishop – June 23, 1996

(Adapted from “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from Disney’s  The Lion King)

Since I became a child of God
Oh, Devil-Man beware
Nothing on the Earth compares
With what I’ve got up there!
Yes, Heaven is the main event
That I’ve been waiting for
And when the trumpet sounds

I find myself wondering if I’ll ever be
Full and complete in spirit, unbound and free
And when the dread of the coming day does surround
I look for God, and find His holy ground (more…)

Shadowlands

SHADOWLANDS

by Paul Bishop — March 6, 1996

The sun shines bright today
Illuminating everything
Except for the shadows
Some people say that sunlight makes shadows
But not really
Shadows exist where sunlight cannot go
Where the sunlight has been forbidden
By an “un-transparent” barrier

There are always shadows where the sun is
And there are shadows where the sun is not
Would you like to walk with me into a land of shadows?
Where the sun is not, nor never has been? (more…)

Gospel Shot

GOSPEL SHOT

by Paul Bishop — January 20, 1996

Why do Christians shoot their own wounded?
No one ever said there would be no pain
But if I’m going to suffer
It should be for souls of sinners
And not because a Jesus-Folk
Has laid on me some blame

I did not pretend to be who I wasn’t (more…)
